INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE «CIRCUMPOLAR CIVILIZATION IN MUSEUMS OF THE WORLD: YESTERDAY, TODAY, TOMORROW» YAKUTSK, JULY, 29 - AUGUST, 1, 2009.

Within the program of UNESCO on the development of cooperation between museums, and also the Memorandum of cooperation in the field of culture, science and education between UNESCO and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the International scientific conference “Circumpolar Civilization in Museums of the World: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” has been carried out.

The conference was held from July, 29 till August, 1, 2009 in Yakutsk, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) patronized by UNESCO and the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and was devoted to the problems of assistance to a cultural variety, development of intercultural dialogue and strengthening partnership between museums as keepers of a cultural heritage of circumpolar civilization.
Presentation of the portal “Circumpolar Civilization in Museums of the World: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” was carried out during two-day trip to the Lena Pillars on a ship.
